Creamy Hummus Chili

Adding a bit of hummus adds a nice creamy texture and great flavor to this simple chili recipe. This recipes is great for tailgating or a quick weeknight dinner.

Cook time: 35 minutes

 

1 lb. lean ground turkey or beef          

1 cup chopped onion

2/3 cup Fresh Cravings Classic, Roasted Red Pepper, Honey Jalapeno or Spicy Red Pepper Hummus

1 (14.5-oz.) can petite diced tomatoes

1 (15-oz.) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained

1 (10-oz.) can enchilada sauce

1 (4-oz.) can diced green chiles

3 to 4 teaspoons Mexican Seasoning Blend

3/4 teaspoon dried oregano

Optional toppings:

Shredded Mexican blend cheese, sour cream, diced avocado and sliced green onions

Stonefire Naan Crisps or Mini Dippers

 

Cook turkey or beef and onion in a large saucepan over medium-high heat for 5 minutes or until meat is cooked through, breaking up large chunks with the back of the spoon. Stir in remaining ingredients except toppings. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Spoon into bowls and finish with desired topping. Serve with Stonefire Naan Crisps or Mini Dippers. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
