Blue Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Burgers

Prep: 20 minutes Cook: 8 minutes  Serves: 4 


1 lb. lean ground beef

1/4 cup minced red onion

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon dried crushed rosemary or Italian seasoning

Freshly ground pepper

2 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese

2 cooked bacon, torn into 1/2-inch pieces

Grilled French bread or burger buns

Lettuce, sliced red onion and sliced tomato (optional toppers)

Mix beef, onion, salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Divide into 8 equal pieces and shape into 8 very flat patties. Place equal amounts of cheese and bacon in the center of 4 patties and top with remaining patties. Press edges well to seal in filling. Grill over medium heat for 4 minutes on each side or until burgers are cooked to your liking. Serve on bread or buns with any optional toppers as desired.
